We operate worldwide on five continents from our homebase in Maasbracht, the Netherlands, where our production facility is located. Our main markets are: Oil&Gas, Chemical Process industry, Power Generation, Pulp&Paper and Food.

Our team of 55 professionals have extensive knowledge and expertise in forming carbon steels, stainless steels and other special materials. Our craftsmanship is the main reason why customers and engineering firms contact Antonius at an early stage.

Company History

In 1938, the company “Machinefabriek Sint Antonius” was founded by Mr. S. Houben. Initially located near the harbor of Maasbracht, the Netherlands, the company focused on sheet metal and construction work. In 1947, Sint Antonius received an order to manufacture a large number of watertanks, leading to a specialization in manufacturing vessel heads. The construction of high-quality tanks posed a challenge, but in the following years, manufacturing vessel heads became the company’s primary focus.

In 1994, the company changed its name to Antonius Vessel Heads B.V. to appeal to the Middle East market, a significant region for the company. In 1997, a large press for dished heads was installed, marking a shift towards specializing in very large diameter dished heads. The company’s direct access to water allowed for the transportation of large sizes in one piece, providing a competitive advantage.

In 2002, Antonius was acquired by a private investor, leading to a focus on special products over bulk production. In 2018, a management buyout occurred, with Richard Hamersma and Rob Derix taking over the majority of the shares. With a modern leadership approach and a focus on adding value through engineering partnerships with customers, Antonius is well-positioned for the future.
